Beloved EastEnders couple Harvey Monroe (Ross Boatman) and Jean Slater (Gillian Wright) are headed for splitsville next week, after his recent lies start to catch up with him.
As fans of the BBC soap know, earlier this year Harvey was stunned when his new friend Maya Hussain (Bharti Patel) was revealed to be married to the taxi driver who Harvey’s son Aaron targeted in a racist attack years prior.
In a bid to help right his son’s wrongs, Harvey has been giving Maya money to help with her husband’s loss of earnings, picking up extra shifts at Kat’s Cabs.
In scenes to air next week, Harvey is still working himself into the ground, and Jean is annoyed when he prioritises a job over spending time with her.
When he doesn’t make it home that night, Harvey finds himself in Jean’s bad books and offers to help Stacey Slater (Lacey Turner) out with baby Charli in a bid to make amends.
After collecting the tot from nursery, a knackered Harvey falls asleep in the hot car with Charli in the back.
After Jack Branning (Scott Maslen) spots them, they rush to Charli to hospital, as Harvey despairs over letting it happen.
Subsequently, his relationship with Jean is left hanging by a thread…
Will Charli be OK, and will Harvey be forced to confess why he’s really been working so much?
EastEnders airs these scenes from Monday 19 August from 7.30pm on BBC One and from 6am on iPlayer.
