Pep Guardiola has confirmed Kyle Walker and John Stones will both miss Sunday’s Premier League showdown between Manchester City and Arsenal.
City emerged from the final international break of the season with a series of fresh injury concerns with Walker and Stones both limping off while on England duty.
Akanji meanwhile missed Switzerland’s game against Ireland after picking up a knock.
Ederson meanwhile picked up a knock in the draw with Liverpool earlier in March but the Brazilian could return for Sunday’s showdown at the Etihad Stadium.
City captain Walker started England’s friendly match against Brazil last Saturday but injured his left hamstring racing back to clear Vinicius Jr’s effort off the line.
While he attempted to continue, he was replaced shortly after with Ezri Konsa coming on for his England debut.
Walker returned to Manchester for treatment, missing England’s game against Belgium on Tuesday.
Stones was one of only five players to have played the full 90 against Brazil to be handed another start at Wembley with his evening cut short after just nine minutes.
The centre-half limped off with what appeared to be a groin injury.
Akanji meanwhile was not included in the Switzerland squad that played Ireland on Tuesday, having started the previous 16 games for his country.
Arsenal, Liverpool and City are separated by just one point ahead of Sunday’s clash at the Etihad with 10 games of the season remaining.
