Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 Players Can’t Get Enough Of The New Raimi Suit

Earlier this week, Insomniac Games deployed a fresh update for Marvel’s Spider-Man 2. While many were focused on new features such as New Game+, mission replay, and more, others praised the developer for updating the Sam Raimi suit.

Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 features a plethora of different suits for both Peter Parker and Miles Morales to equip. Some of the suits, which can be acquired throughout the game by collecting tech parts and city tokens, are an acquired taste. While some may love a specific suit, others may hate it. But one thing fans could agree one: the previous Sam Raimi suit was a disservice to the greatest Spider-Man of all time.

Update 1.002 for Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 brought with it plenty of reasons to jump back into the PlayStation 5 exclusive. The highlight of the update is undoubtedly New Game+, which allows players to boot up a new playthrough with all of their previously unlocked suits and abilities. It also includes several new features and items to unlock as you progress through the new mode.

Other prominent features include new story symbiote suit styles that can be unlocked via the new ultimate level difficulty, mission replays, the ability to change the time of day, new photo mode features, and even some new suits. Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 Players Are Obsessed With Raimi Suit Upgrade

Deep within the patch notes for this week’s Spider-Man 2 update is a single line of text that reads, “Updated Webbed Suit textures.” The Webbed Suit, which is more commonly referred to as the Sam Raimi suit, has had changes to its textures and it looks so, so much better than its predecessor.

X user Ivan B. Parker took to the platform yesterday to share an in-game screenshot of the new suit and said that it “looks so good.”

Others took to the game’s subreddit to show their appreciation for the update. Reddit user Zealos57 said the suit is “fucking gorgeous now,” while Daredevil731 said that the glow-up from before to after is “insane.”

Other users pointed out that the old suit didn’t inherently appear to be bad, at the time. But now that the suit has been updated, they’re struggling to even look at the old one. “Jesus. I thought I liked the old one,” milezhb said.

Cooz78, on the other hand, believed the original wasn’t even close to the movie suit. “The [original] suit looks so fucking far from the suit in the movie it’s like a whole different suit. New one looks more accurate but the mask is still improbable.”
