A new update for Mayfair Witches season 2 has revealed its release window and new footage at San Diego Comic-Con as filming on the Immortal Universe series wraps. Based on Anne Rice’s book series, the premise of the show involves neurosurgeon Dr. Rowan Fielding (Alexandra Daddario) learning of her connection to the Mayfair family, a coven of witches haunted by a dark spirit known as Lasher. Details about Mayfair Witches season 2 have been sparse so far, other than the story following the events of season 1 and the episodes being released at some point in 2025.
Screen Rant was in attendance at the Immortal Universe panel at San Diego Comic-Con, where it was revealed Mayfair Witches season 2 will be arriving in early 2025 now that filming has wrapped. New footage of season 2 was also shown, with Daddario’s Rowan in a lavish-looking manor, seeing other characters while also looking up at the rain. Her voiceover indicates she may have a vengeful future ahead, now that she’s taking care of the baby reincarnation of Lasher. Check out some of what she said in the clip below:
I came here like something out of a fairy tale to meet my long lost family and I found myself in this other world like through the liking glass. Turns out I’m a different person than I thought I was. You have no idea what I’m planning… It has to stop. I’m taking care of it. Of him.

Mayfair Witches Season 2 Is Going In An Unpredictable Direction
Season 1 Didn’t Fully Follow Anne Rice’s Book Series
Mayfair Witches season 1 ended with Rowan giving birth to a baby indicated to be a reincarnated version of Lasher, the spirit who’s haunted the Mayfair family for generations. Despite pleading from Ciprien to give the baby to him, she refuses, deciding to forge her own path beyond that of her family and the Talamasca’s whims. She also turns Cortland to stone for assaulting Deirdre when she was younger, setting her on a potential path for revenge once season 2 arrives.
As of writing, it’s unclear how Mayfair Witches season 2’s place in the Immortal Universe will shape up, especially because the series has veered so far from the direction of Rice’s original novels. While the scenarios showcased so far have been inspired by the books, the amount of original storytelling going on means it’s impossible to fully predict what will happen moving forward. However, since the Talamasca and Mayfair families have their own agendas, Rowan is likely to be caught in the middle again as she tries to protect her new child.
One potential route for the show is becoming tied into AMC’s upcoming Talamasca series, since the organization was introduced in the supernatural drama. Depending on how things play out between them and Rowan in Mayfair Witches, season 2 could pass the baton to the next show, helping to strengthen ties between the Immortal Universe’s entries. But, with very little known about the season so far, it appears the show’s mysteries will need to wait just a bit longer before they’re fully revealed.
