Micron has released its latest Crucial P310 Series SSDs, rocking Gen 4 speeds in capacities up to 2TB. All of this at a competitive, hard-to-beat price, making for an excellent storage solution.
The new Crucial P310 lineup – not to be confused with the compact P310 – is a regular-sized M.2 2280 SSD series boasting up to 7,100MB/s read speed. To begin with, Micron launched three models offering 500GB, 1TB, and 2TB capacities. Though targeting an affordable price range, these Gen 4 M.2 drives hit hard, with read speeds reaching 6,600MB/s on the 500GB variant and a whopping 7,100MB/s on the 1TB and 2TB models.
In other words, these SSDs sit near the limit of what Gen 4 M.2 slots can muster, making for a great all-around storage solution that doesn’t break the bank. The Crucial P310 Series has what it takes to make your games and apps happy, be it on desktops, laptops, handhelds, or even consoles.
When it comes to write speeds, things change slightly. While the larger model keeps a blazing 6,000MB/s, the 500GB drops down to 3,500MB/s alongside equally reduced random read/write figures. It’s still not a bad choice, but you should only select the 500GB model as a last resort as you would be much better off with the 1TB or 2TB.
Like its compact sibling, these drives come covered by a five-year warranty, showing the brand’s confidence in its longevity. That said, Micron didn’t share any TBW durability figures. The full spec list can be seen below.
You can find the new Crucial P310 SSDs for $49.99, $84.99 and $139.99, offering 500GB, 1TB, and 2TB of storage capacity, respectively. This puts them among the cheapest models available. Yes, you can find the same capacity for less money, but those will have difficulty hitting similar speeds. Besides, it’s a fantastic sign of things to come, considering analysts expected costs to increase throughout this year. Of course, things may still change, so don’t hang around if you plan to upgrade any time soon.
