This is the moment a furious gym goer bit another woman’s finger off in a brawl over hogging an exercise machine.

A fight broke out after a woman named Rossana accused another, named Leticia, of using a leg press for too long at Gimnasio Great Fitness workout centre in Monterrey, Mexico.

In CCTV footage recorded on April 1, Leticia, 66, can be seen jumping up to confront her accuser, before the two get physical.

Despite other people attempting to pull them apart, Rossana, 44, soon manages to grab Leticia’s hair and begins dragging her along the gym floor.

As the two continue to grapple, Leticia bites off her rival’s finger, according to local media reports.

Rossana is later seen being comforted by a man, at which point she realises she has been bitten and faints on the floor.

A member of staff is seen fanning her with a towel, while others arrive with water and what seems to be a medical kit.

Photos taken in the aftermath show Rossana’s right hand with the tip of her little finger missing.

A plastic bag shows the fingertip still with its red nail varnish after it was collected for evidence.

Another snap shows a defiant-looking Leticia in handcuffs standing beside a police car.

Police arrested both women and gym managers told local media both their memberships had been cancelled.

Leticia reportedly faces charges of assault while Rossana is said to be recovering from her injuries.
