Former My Chemical Romance drummer Bob Bryar, 44, was found dead in his Tennessee home.
A member of the band from 2004 to 2010, Bryar played the drums on all of MCR’s biggest hits in their heyday.
Law enforcement reported no signs of foul play, as his belongings, including weapons and music equipment, were untouched, according to TMZ.
His body was described as ‘badly decomposed’ by the outlet and Animal Control reportedly removed two dogs from the residence.
He was last seen alive on November 4 and his cause of death remains under investigation.
Bryar joined My Chemical Romance in 2004, contributing to their landmark album The Black Parade.
Known for his genre-defining drumming, he played a crucial role in shaping the band’s sound before leaving in 2010 due to tensions in the band.
The band released a statement at the time describing Bryar’s departure from the band as ‘painful.’
‘As of 4 weeks ago, My Chemical Romance and Bob Bryar parted ways. This was a painful decision for all of us to make and was not taken lightly,’ it read.
‘We wish him the best of luck in his future endeavours and expect you all to do the same.’
After exiting the music scene in 2014, Bryar pursued real estate and animal rescue advocacy.
He was candid about his struggles with mental health, sharing personal challenges after his departure from the band.
His passing has prompted an outpouring of tributes from fans and fellow musicians, remembering his significant impact on the emo and alternative rock.
