Nollywood actress Debbie Shokoya is still yet to get over the euphoria of being a mother.
Kemi Filani reported last month that Debbie became a first-time mum as she welcomed a baby girl with her husband. The good news was made known by her colleague, Seiilat, who shared a photo of the pregnant movie star and a caption expressing gratitude over the birth of her child.
A week later, the parents of one held a naming ceremony for their daughter, which had in attendance Dayo Amusa and others. Debbie in an Instagram post, revealed her daughter’s name, Khairat Ayokunmi Ejalonibu.
Now taking to her Instagram page, the mother of one on Sunday, shared a photo of her and her daughter as she expressed gratitude to her Maker, stating that her testimony is countless.
“My Testimony Is Countless!!
I Am Grateful Lord.
On A Sunny Sunday With My Sunshine.
Mummy K”.
A few days back, Debbie opened up on her pregnancy journey, revealing that she first thought she lost but God was planning the best for her. She recalled how the result said she had high prolactin, but God turned it to pregnancy. According to Debbie, the devil tried using her trauma against her on her journey but God was standing by her and He blessed her beyond how she could describe it
The birth of her first child is coming a year after she lost her pregnancy. In August 2023, Debbie in an emotional video on her Instagram page, tearfully recounted how she lost her pregnancy at eight months. She noted how she sacrificed and went through a lot for her unborn child and even bonded with her child so well before the loss.
In December, she reflected on her painful pregnancy loss, noting how many pregnant women died with their child in their womb, and some died after giving birth. Debbie stated that though it didn’t go as planned, it went as God planned and she was grateful.
Early this year, the movie star released a movie she dedicated to her child, admitting that even though it was traumatising, it made her stronger. She credited her dead child for making her know she could sacrifice without giving a second thought and for making her strong.
