Napoli have received a €65 million transfer bid for Chelsea and Arsenal transfer target Victor Osimhen from Al Ahli.
The Serie A club are prepared to let their prize asset leave before the transfer window shuts having agreed a deal to sign Chelsea misfit Romelu Lukaku who has spent the last two seasons on loan in Serie A with Inter and Roma.
Despite the financial riches on offer in the Saudi Pro League, Osimhen, according to Fabrizio Romano, remains far from convinced that leaving Europe at this stage of his career represents a logical move.
Stamford Bridge has long-been viewed as the Nigeria international’s most likely next destination, but Arsenal too are reported to harbour long-term interest in the25-year-old.
Chelsea scored six goals on Sunday as they thumped Wolves at Molineux in a game which saw Noni Madueke register a hat-trick and Nicolas Jackson get off the mark.
Regardless of that goal glut, Chelsea are keen to strengthen their forward line in what remains of the window with Manchester United’s Jadon Sancho also on their radar.
Arsenal, meanwhile, are also scouring the market for attacking options to bolster their squad in light of the departure of Emile Smith Rowe.
The likes of Eddie Nketiah, Reiss Nelson and Fabio Vieira are also likely to leave over the course of the next week, while Gabriel Jesus suffered a groin injury which ruled him out of Saturday’s 2-0 win over Aston Villa.
