North East Development Commission (NEDC) has Friday handed over stater packs to 45 Yobe youths from the 17 LGA of the state trained on fabrication of energy efficient stove, briquette/charcoal production and Soler power installation
State Coordinator NEDC in Yobe, Prof.Ibrahim Ali Abbas, said the empowerment training which was conducted recently targeted and reached out 558 beneficiaries.
He revealed that,”The current batched that we have is 20 beneficiaries that attended the training in Damaturu on briquette and charcoal production,20 in Maiduguri trained on Solar installation and repair and 5 trained in Bauchi respectively.
“We are here to day with all the 45 beneficiaries to take delivery of these items that was supported to them by the north east development commission,” he said.
He reiterated and appreciated Yobe state government under the leadership of Governor Mai Mala Buni for providing a condusive working environment for the NEDC to be able to discharged their mandate.
In his remarks shortly after handing over empowerment materials, the permanent secretary state ministry of environment,Tonga Betara Bularafa , said thanked the commission for the empowerment programme.
