Haley says that Trump will spend more time in court next year than advertising.
In an interview with the media on Wednesday, Republican presidential candidate Nikki Haley said that former President Donald Trump won’t be able to win the 2024 race because of his court problems.
Haley’s words came after Wednesday night’s first GOP presidential debate in Milwaukee. She was one of the only candidates to say that the Republican Party couldn’t beat President Biden if Trump were its choice. The former U.N. ambassador said she mostly agreed with Trump on policy, but his current court cases would make it hard for him to run for office next year.
“I do think that Donald Trump will spend more time in a courtroom next year than he does campaigning,” Haley told Hannity during the interview. “This is not because of anything other than the fact that they’re using the government against him.”
“I served with him, and I was proud to serve with him. I agree with him on most issues, and he’s my friend,” Haley said. But the truth is that we can’t pay for Joe Biden.
Hannity then talked about the latest report by Special Counsel John Durham, which said that the FBI was unfair to Trump and that the Steele dossier couldn’t be proven. He then asked Haley if she thought all the charges against Trump were political and if the U.S. legal system was being used as a tool.
Haley said, “It’s all political and about making weapons out of it.” “But he still has to go to court five times next year. He will begin the first one at the beginning of January. “He has another one coming up in March.”
“That’s why we need to win, because we have to make sure this arming stops,” she said. “This is why we need to clean up the Department of Justice and both of our intelligence services. This is why this is important. We will say that we have to clean up Washington because of Donald Trump.”
“But you can’t clean up Washington if Donald Trump keeps fighting about things from the past. We need a young generation of conservatives who will clean up what they’ve done to Donald Trump and move our country forward.
Earlier in the evening, during the discussion, Haley and six of the seven other candidates said they would back Trump if he is the winner and is found guilty of wrongdoing.
Trump is being sued in multiple places nationwide because he handled secret papers and acted around the 2020 election. In the most recent case in Georgia, he is due to turn himself in on Thursday.
