The Institute for Humanitarian Studies and Social Development (IHSSD) has conferred the Distinguished Associate Humanitarian Fellow on the Director General of the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC), Brig.-Gen. YD Ahmed.
Speaking during the special induction and decoration ceremonies Thursday in Abuja, the President and Chairman, Governing Council of the Institute, Ambassador Adamu Babangida Ibrahim, said the award was in recognition of General Ahmed’s contributions to nation building through his numerous humanitarian gestures.
Ambassador Ibrahim commended the awardee for leading the way for younger generations to emulate in his capacity as the director-general of the country’s foremost youth agency.
In his acceptance remarks, Brig.-Gen. Ahmed appreciated the institute for recognising his efforts in leading corps members to continue putting smiles on the faces of the less privileged.
He gave the assurance that the award given to him would spur him to put more effort in rendering humanitarian services.
