What The Dexter: Original Sin Trailer Means For The Show
A New Cast Is Introduced
The Dexter: Original Sin trailer starts with Michael C. Hall’s Dexter lying in the snow, having been shot by his son Harrison during the Dexter: New Blood ending. Though showrunner Clyde Phillips has said that Dexter died during the New Blood finale, the Original Sin trailer shows him being rushed to the emergency room, suggesting that he survived, and hinting at how he may return in Dexter: Resurrection. Nevertheless, it appears the prequel series will be framed as Dexter seeing his “life flash before his eyes.”

We Already Know 6 Kills That Will Be In Dexter Morgan’s Prequel Show
Dexter: Original Sin will show Dexter’s earliest kills, but the franchise has already revealed six of his earliest victims and how he killed them.
Tackling Dexter’s origin story, the trailer teases the origins of the code, a set of rules designed by Harry (and Dr. Evelyn Vogel) to help him harness his dark passenger and kill those who have escaped justice, while also keeping himself from getting caught. To hone his skills, a young Dexter begins a forensics internship at the Miami Metro Police Department, introducing several characters from the original series played by younger actors.
This includes Christian Slater as Harry Morgan, Christina Milian as Maria LaGuerta, James Martinez as Angel Batista, and Alex Shimizu as Vince Masuka. New characters include Reno Wilson as Bobby Watt, Harry’s homicide partner and best friend, Patrick Dempsey as Aaron Spencer, Captain of the Miami Metro Police Department’s homicide division, and Sarah Michelle Gellar as Tanya Martin, the CSI Chief at MMPD and Dexter’s new boss.
