The Osun state government Thursday released dates to conduct interviews for applicants who applied for the teaching position in the state civil service.
The applicants had sat for the screening examination in February and have since been waiting for the recruitment.
However, a statement by the Commissioner for Information and Public Enlightenment, Kolapo Alimi, said the state executive council has directed the Ministry of Education to conduct interviews for applicants within the cut- off range adopted after the recruitment test.
The statement added that the council presided over by Governor Ademola Adeleke gave the directive after receiving updated reports from the Commissioner for Education, Hon. Adedipo Eluwole, who briefed the council on the activities leading to this final stage of the exercise.
“The council noted that the delay in the conclusion of the exercise was due in part to the protracted negotiations on the new minimum wage which has now been concluded and for which the state government has set up an implementation committee for commencement.
“The council further acknowledged the issuance of letters to teachers on the elongated service programme for which about two thousand beneficiaries have been issued letters of engagement, describing it as part of concerted efforts to bridge the staff shortage within the state school system.
“The interview is scheduled to be held between Monday 9th to Friday 13th September, 2024 by 9am daily,” the statement added.
