Operatives of the Nigerian Army (NA) and the Nigeria Police Force (NPF) have reaffirmed their commitment to collaborate in tackling security challenges in Lagos and Ogun states.
The agencies made the commitment when the Assistant Inspector General (AIG) in charge of Zone 2 Command, Adegoke Mustapha Fayoade paid a courtesy visit to the General Officer Commanding (GOC) 81 Division NA, Major General Farouk Mijinyawa, Wednesday at the NA headquarters 81 Division in Lagos.
The Acting Deputy Director Army Public Relations (ADAPRO) Lieutenant Colonel, Olalekan Ayeni, disclosed that the visit was aimed at strengthening the existing relationship between the two security agencies.
In his welcome remarks, the GOC, Major General Mijinyawa emphasised the importance of maintaining peace and security in the economically vital states. He further assured AIG Fayoade of the NA’s continued support while recognizing the crucial role of the NPF in internal security operations.
In response to the visit, AIG Fayoade described his visit as an effort to sustain the synergy already existing between the two organisations.
