The Kano state Police command Wednesday said the robust crime prevention patrols led to the arrest of suspected criminals for armed robbery, cattle rustling, kidnapping and other banditry-related crimes.
The command said it arrested 19 suspects in connection with various crimes.
Kano Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), Superintendent Abdullahi Haruna Kiyawa, stated this in Kano.
He said the arrest was made possible because of robust crime prevention patrols and intelligence gathering.
Kiyawa added that the exhibits recovered include two AK-47 rifles, one smoke pistol, one pump action rifle, 26 rounds of 7.62mm live ammunition, 17 live cartridges, two motor vehicles, 16 rams, other dangerous weapons and housebreaking implements.
“Investigation is ongoing and the suspected will soon be charged to court,” he said.
