A mother and daughter vanished three weeks ago and haven’t been seen since.

Joana, 39, and her four-year-old daughter Aliannah were last seen at their home in Luton in February but were ‘last heard from three weeks ago’, according to Bedfordshire Police.

They were reported missing on Wednesday, and police have launched an appeal to find them after becoming ‘concerned for their welfare’.

A spokesperson for the force said: ‘Joana is described as black, of slim build and around 5ft 9in.

‘She has dark shoulder length hair, often worn in a ponytail.

‘Aliannah is also described as black, slim, with black Afro style hair – often braided.

‘We would urge the community not to speculate on the circumstances of this missing appeal.’

Police shared the appeal alongside images of Joanna and a smiling Aliannah.

Underneath, people shared their concern and expressed hope the pair ‘are found safe’.

The mother and daughter are known to have links with the Handsworth area in Birmingham.

Police urged the public to ‘report any sightings immediately’, and urged people ‘not to speculate on the circumstances’ of the missing appeal.
