Coronation Street legend Carla Connor (Alison King) is facing prison fears following a confrontation with Roy Cropper (David Neilson) over Bobby Crawford’s (Jack Carroll) recent statement.

Recent scenes saw Bobby give a false statement to police regarding Lauren Bolton’s (Cait Fitton) disappearance, in a bid to get Roy off the hook.

He told DS Swain (Vicky Myers) that he had seen a man in Lauren’s flat, who’d told him to keep quiet, though this wasn’t the truth.

Unfortunately, despite Bobby’s statement, Roy’s bail hearing didn’t go to plan, with the judge denying him bail and pointing out that the timing of the statement was suspicious.

Following this, Roy demanded an audience with Carla, where it soon became clear that he had caught onto Bobby’s lie.

Though Carla tried to throw him off the scent, Roy explained that he could tell by Bobby’s reactions in court that he had fabricated the evidence, which left Carla backed into a corner.

She was quick to explain that she and Bobby could end up facing serious consequences for lying to the police, to which Roy pointed out that now he knew the truth, he too could end up in even bigger trouble.

However, that wasn’t Roy’s biggest concern. Ever thoughtful, Roy was more worried about the fact that the police would now be on a wild goose chase looking for a suspect that doesn’t exist, as opposed to focusing on actually solving the case of Lauren’s disappearance.

As Roy fretted over keeping the secret, Carla told him he had no choice, otherwise they would all go down.

Frustrated, Roy walked away, leaving Carla to relay the details of their conversation to Bobby back at the flat.

Though Bobby insisted that he hadn’t meant to cause any harm, Carla pointed out how much he had messed up, before explaining that she knew Roy, and while he wouldn’t want to get either of them in trouble, he would feel the need to do the moral thing.

Lo and behold, back at the prison, Roy picked up the phone to call DS Swain, but will he tell her the truth and risk sending Carla and Bobby to prison?
