The rector of Kogi State Polytechnic, Lokoja, Dr. Salisu Ogbo Usman, has said quality assurance was one of the major mechanisms he used to reposition and restore the dignity of the institution.
Usman stated this Friday when he received the caretaker chairman of Lokoja local government area, Comrade Abdullahi Adamu, on a courtesy visit.
He said the ban on indiscriminate and compulsory sale of text books “thereby making the same as requirement for continuous assessment and examination, introduction of e-exam, e-result computation and e-payment” had also put the polytechnic in good stead.
The rector, who appreciated the caretaker chairman and his entourage for the visit, commended Comrade Adamu for “starting well.”
In his remarks, Comrade Adamu said the visit was to familiarise with the institution and to appreciate the management for their tremendous efforts in uplifting the standard of the institution.
He commended the rector for identifying with the immediate community through various supports and encouragement, and expressed the local government’s readiness to make the area “habitable and hospitable for all.”
