Chelsea captain Reece James has fired a welcome message to his ‘brother’ Jadon Sancho after he completed a deadline day move to the club.

Sancho has joined Chelsea on loan from Manchester United for the rest of the season and the deal includes an obligation to buy for £20-£25m next summer.

The 24-year-old England international is looking to kickstart his career at Stamford Bridge after a turbulent three-year spell with United at Old Trafford.

Sancho already has a number of friends in west London – including James – who he knows from their time together on the international stage with the Three Lions.

‘Welcome my brother,’ James posted on social media about Sancho’s move to Chelsea, while a number of other Blues stars have also sent messages to him.

‘Let’s gooo,’ Noni Madueke added, before posting a picture of Sancho in his new Chelsea training top with a series of fire emojis.

A third Chelsea star, Trevoh Chalobah, currently on loan at Crystal Palace, called Sancho a ‘balla’ and posted a heart eyes emoji.

Sancho also received messages from Tosin Adarabioyo, Ian Maatsen, Dele Alli, Marco Reus and Eddie Nketiah.

Speaking to the Chelsea website after his move was confirmed, Sancho said: ‘I know Tosin and Cole Palmer – he was younger than me when I was at City.

‘I haven’t had a chance to speak to them yet, but I’m sure I will soon. They’re going to be looking out for me, I’m sure

‘I want to bring goals and assists. I’m a skilful player and I want to bring excitement to the Bridge. Hopefully, it will turn out well.

‘They’re signing me for a reason and to contribute to the team, and I’m ready to do that.

‘I enjoy [Enzo Maresca’s] style of play. The wingers when they get on the ball, he loves them to go one versus one and be direct. We play a lot of one-twos with the 10s and the striker combination plays. It’s very attractive and it’s a style that I play.’
