Ruth Langsford has returned to social media after confirming her divorce from TV star husband Eamonn Holmes.
The Loose Women star and GB News presenter, both 64, announced on Saturday (May 25) that, after 14 years of marriage, they had parted ways.
Their split is believed to be ‘amicable’ and stems from their careers taking them in ‘different directions’.
A statement read: ‘Ruth Langsford and Eamonn Holmes have confirmed their marriage is over and they are in the process of divorcing.’
Despite a spokesperson confirming that they are in the process of legally divorcing, neither Eamonn nor Ruth has commented explicitly on matters.
Taking to Instagram on Sunday evening, Ruth ignored the elephant in the room with some wholesome weekend content.
Firstly, she posted a video of her walking her dog, Maggie, writing: ‘Enjoying the little bit of sunshine we got today!’
In a second video, Ruth captured her beloved mother, who regularly features on her page, cuddling the pooch.
‘Bit of Grandma love’, she penned as her mum smiled widely with the dog in her lap.
Ruth’s posts come after Eamonn also refused to address the divorce in his social media return yesterday.
Taking to his feed after the football match between Manchester United and Manchester City, the former This Morning host shared a photo of a sketch with Sir Alex Ferguson, singing his club’s praises.
‘My God , what a Cuo Final , what a Result ! #MUFC European football next season too . The Magic of The Cuo . Congratulations to the whole squad 👏👏👏👏 [sic]’, his caption read.
As to be expected, fans in the comments were keen for him to address the news from his personal life, but Eamonn has kept schtum.
It is believed, though, that he will speak out when he returns to GB News next week.
Meanwhile, Ruth is thought to be taking a step back from duties on the Loose Women panel.
While details of the demise of Ruth and Eamonn’s marriage are unknown, insiders have claimed that they were living separate lives for two years.
It’s said that their relationship started deteriorating after they left This Morning in 2021.
The exes – who have a son, Jack, born in 2002 – are said to have had ‘different priorities’ over the past three years.
A source told The Sun on Sunday night: ‘Eamonn and Ruth’s relationship changed when they left This Morning. They started moving in different directions in their careers and their priorities started to change.’
‘Eamonn was desperate to return to Belfast, which he thinks of as home, but Ruth would never move. It became a bone of contention.
‘As her ITV career continued, Eamonn went down another path and they became ships in the night.
‘For the past two years, they had led separate lives, professionally and personally.’
