Sam Thompson was seen crying and hugging his friend Pete Wicks amid rumours emerged he and Zara McDermott had split.
Sam, 31, was seen breaking down in floods of tears and being comforted by his friend and Staying Relevant podcast co-host, Pete, 36, at the Tric Awards at Grosvenor House Hotel in London on Tuesday.
The pair were seen hugging and smoking for about 30 minutes before returning inside to the awards ceremony.
Sam looked emotional as he pinched the ridge of his nose, and rested his head on his friend’s shoulder.
These photos have emerged just weeks after Sam and his girlfriend Zara, 27, were seen having a public argument.
The pair were photographed having an animated conversation following Soccer Aid on June 9th.
The images released earlier this month seemed to show the couple having an argument but Zara cleared up the rumours as she claimed she was just giving her boyfriend ‘positive affirmations.’
Sharing the pictures, Zara – who appeared alongside Sam on Made In Chelsea – said: ‘Why did this make me laugh so much btw.
‘”Stop saying you should have scored!!!! You did your best and that’s all that matters!! You need to stop doubting yourself!!!!”‘ Zara wrote, reciting their conversation.
‘It looks like we are having an argument but I’m actually telling him positive affirmations in a very passionate manner,’ she explained.
Sam and Zara – who came to fame on Love Island in 2018 – first began dating in 2019 when she messaged him on Instagram.
Sam told OK Magazine: ‘She slid into my DMs. It was great and I’m glad she did.’
The couple had a very public breakup in 2020 which was shown on an episode Made In Chelsea. The infamous scene- took place on a park bench as Sam told Zara he was unable to get over the fact that she had cheated on him.
To which Zara responded: ‘You can!’
Since the images of Sam and Pete were taken, Zara has photos of herself spending time with her boyfriend on social media.
On Saturday, she tagged Sam in an Instagram story as she shared a photograph of ice cream cones with the caption: ‘feeling gutted because this ice cream van didn’t have any sprinkles.’
Sam Thompson’s reps declined to comment.
