Milk? Check. Bread? Check. Life-sized cutout of your favourite celebrity?
It’s not part of your average shopping list, but Tesco have launched a bizarre range of life-sized cardboard cuts of A-list celebrities.
For £38.99 each, you can buy stand-ins for your favourite actors, singers and even animated characters.
Some of the celebrities are particularly head-scratching: there’s a range of Tory politicians including Theresa May and Matt Hancock, or if you’re more left-leaning you can buy Jeremy Corbyn.
If politics aren’t you thing, how about the 1975’s Matty Healy? Or perhaps you’d prefer another of Taylor’s exes – there’s also Tom Hiddleston and Jake Gyllenhaal for sale.
Whatever niche celebrity you’re a fan of, Tesco appears to have you covered – there seems to be a cut out of almost everyone. A diehard fan of Annalena Baerbock, the Federal Minister for Foreign Affairs of Germany? Never fear, head to Tesco.
There’s even a cutout of the Bard himself, William Shakespeare.
Available on Tesco’s marketplace, and sold by brand by Partyrama, there is also a cut out of One Direction’s Liam Payne, who tragically died earlier this week, aged just 31.
Shoppers were quick to spot the strange addition to the supermarket’s website, taking to X to share their bemusment.
‘Oh wait you’re nipping to Tesco? Do you mind getting us some kitchen roll, butter, and another life sized Vicky McClure cardboard cutout plz,’ joked @ciaraaelliss.
And user, Leigh, asked: ‘Who is going to Tesco to do their weekly shop and thinking I know what I need. A Yungblud cardboard cutout?’

Others were confused by the astounding selection of quite so many A-listers.
‘Tesco are selling cardboard cut outs of everyone,’ wrote @EmmaGWeston. ‘I’ve been scrolling looking at them for so long I’m scared that I may come across one of myself.’
The cut-outs are available in the ‘party essentials’ section of Tesco’s website, sold through their marketplace, which arrives separately to a standard food shop.
The Tesco website reads: ‘All Tesco Marketplace products are sold and dispatched directly from our trusted partners and delivered by post or courier.
‘All Tesco grocery orders are sold and delivered by us, from either your local store or one of our fulfilment centres.
‘This means that, even when you order Marketplace products and groceries at the same time, they’ll be delivered separately.’
It’s bizarrely not the first time cardboard cut outs have made headlines this week. Actor Andrew Garfield headed to the UK premier of the We Live In Time movie with a cardboard cutout of his co-star Florence Pugh, after scheduling conflicts meant she couldn’t make it.
Perhaps he picked her up from Tesco?
