Snoop Dogg is quickly becoming the unexpected supporting star of the Paris Olympics 2024.
The musician has bagged himself a job as a sports commentator for NBC and Peacock and is clearly taking his role seriously by ensuring he’s in attendance at the major events so he can give his end-of-the-day analysis.
On day two, he took a seat in the stand for the artistic gymnastics qualification events on Sunday morning, which saw Team USA superstar Simone Biles, topping the leaderboard. It was certainly a triumphant return for the Olympian, who endured a torrid time in Tokyo three years ago.
The audience got to witness history being made as the athlete became the first woman to land the Yurchenko double pike at the games, scoring a massive 15.800.

Despite an injury scare, she still scored a huge 14.600 in the floor event but was seen grimacing on some of her landings during her routine.
The most decorated gymnast in history has advanced to the final in all four individual events – vault, uneven bars, beam and floor exercise – and led the USA to first place through the second of five qualifying sessions.
For the event that will now go down in the history books, Snoop, 52, loudly supported his country by wearing a tracksuit covered in the American flag and embossed with the five Olympic rings logo.
To add to his cool factor, he paired the white garments with some shades. Perhaps so he wasn’t blinded by 27-year-old Simone’s shining performance.
He looked like he was having a whale of a time as he enthusiastically clapped for the competitors, and playfully lifted his sunglasses.
Joining Snoop at the Bercy Arena in France’s capital was Tom Cruise, 62, who looked captivated by the sportswomanship taking place in front of his eyes.
He was seen cheerily posing for photos and also embracing Lady Gaga, who performed at the opening ceremony, with a big hug.
Although it initially seemed at first look that Gaga, 38, had kept things casual in a USA fleece, she gave the look an edge with a pair of platforms that we’d struggle to take two steps in.
It was a family affair for John Legend, 45, and Chrissy Teigen, 38, who took their young children Luna and Miles to witness the incredible sport – something they surely won’t be forgetting in a hurry.
Ariana Grande, 31, also used the event to get some sibling bonding time in, with her brother Frankie Grande, 41, sitting down together.
She looked effortlessly glamorous in a white dress as she also conversed with Wicked co-star Cynthia Erivo, 37, proving that they are not just work pals, but IRL friends too.
Frankie has recently undergone nose surgery and has now been able to ditch his plasters as he sat down in the stand with his husband Hale Leon.
The US squad’s national team coordinator Chellsie Memmel, has spoken about whether the team care about celebrities being in attendance.
‘I think, you know, when they come into the arena, they kind of put their blinders on and they’re focusing on their job,’ she explained to the New York Times.
‘But having the amount of energy that the arena had just fuels them. It just gives you that extra energy.’
Somebody else with their blinders on was the queen of fashion Anna Wintour who wore her trademark black sunglasses.
She took a break from editing Vogue magazine to witness Simone’s return and warmly greeted Ariana with a kiss.
For the occasion, the 74-year-old also chose a floral dress which managed to match the colour scheme of her lanyard. She truly never misses.
