Former Strictly Come Dancing star Oti Mabuse was taken aback after thinking about her baby daughter’s future.

The talent show judge, presenter and professional dancer is best known for appearing on Strictly Come Dancing, as a panellist on The Masked Dancer and a judge on Dancing on Ice.

On Christmas Day last year she also revealed she’d given birth to her first child with husband Marius Iepure.

A few months after the 33-year-old announced the arrival of their daughter, she shared that it was far from an easy birth and she had suffered from sepsis, while her daughter was born ‘very’ premature.

However, while things now seem to have settled down, Oti was recently caught off guard when becoming emotional thinking about her newborn.

Sharing a video on Instagram with tears in her eyes, she wrote: ‘Looking at myself on the train after I cried because the school near my house held an Easter parade for the kiddies and I already imagined my daughter moving out, going to study in university on another continent because she found out I tracked her on iPhone Find Me and wants independence.’

Although she added a crying laughing emoji, she added: ‘I’m not OK.’

On her page, she captioned the video: ‘The hormones are giving.’

Many of her followers then weighed in and shared they’d experienced similar.

Although Katherine Ryan commented with a series of crying laughing emojis, Greg Rutherford said it ‘happens to the best of us’.

‘Are you even a mother if this doesn’t cross your mind daily,’ user Rachel shared.

‘You stalk your daughter all you need…she’ll understand one day,’ Jeni joked.

‘It is difficult but a friend once told me, “our children are only lent to us”, so keep that at the back of your mind and in the meantime live in the moment and enjoy the time you have with her,’ Sharon shared.

Last month Oti shared details about the traumatic birth of her daughter, whose name who hasn’t been shared publicly.

‘You see your child for two minutes and then they get taken away by a group of 10 midwives and doctors. That’s when things start to change and start to hit you,’ she recalled.

‘I think we didn’t hold her for about a week because she was still in an incubator with the wires, and with jaundice so she was under blue light. And she had infections because it turned out that I had sepsis,’ she added during an appearance on Giovanna Fletcher’s podcast Happy Mum Happy Baby.

Oti also revealed she and Marius announced the arrival of their baby when she was nine weeks old as they wanted to take ‘time for ourselves’ after the ‘big shock’ over her ‘unexpected’ premature birth.
