Three young people who died after a Tesla they were riding in went airborne have been identified as current and former students

Street surveillance footage captured shortly after 2.30am on Saturday shows the moment that the vehicle crashed through a streetlight and into a power pole, then smashed into a building.

The 2018 Tesla Model 3 ran a red light while driving over 100mph on Sierra Madre Boulevard at the intersection with Foothill Boulevard, according to the Pasadena Police Department.

It struck a curb, which caused it to go flying.

Six people were inside the Tesla. The driver and two passengers were killed, and three others were rushed to a hospital with life-threatening injuries.

Half of the occupants were not wearing seatbelts and were ejected during the crash.

Maranatha High School’s Head of School John Rouse stated: ‘Our two current students are in the process of being healed, we hope. And one of our former students did not make it.’

One of the victims has been named as Stefan Michael Pfeiffer, 20, who was attending Pasadena City College. He was also an Eagle Scout.

The driver, Pasadena resident Moheb Samuel, 22, was identified by co-workers, along with the third victim, Esrom Fessemaye.
