Police have launched a probe into the death of a teenage girl after she died just hours after attending a festival.
The 17-year-old, who has not been identified, died at hospital last night after it is believed she attended Worried About Henry, a drum and bass event held at Dreamland in Margate.
A police spokesperson has said: ‘Kent Police was called at 5.58pm on Saturday, June 29 to be made aware of the death of a 17-year-old girl at the QEQM hospital in Margate.
‘Inquiries are ongoing to establish the circumstances surrounding the death and a report is being made for the coroner.’
Metro has reached out to the event organisers for comment.
It follows just a week after a woman, thought to have been in her forties, died at one of the campsites at Isle of Wight festival.
A coroner has said that death is not being treated as suspicious.
Meanwhile, another British woman was in June reported to have been raped by a gang of men while attending another festival in Paris.
The victim, who has also not been named, was apparently found crying and holding her underwear in the Chatelet-Les Halles district in the centre of the French capital.
