Summary
- That ’90s Show is expanding Don Stark’s role as Bob Pinciotti in season 2 after appearing in just one episode of season 1.
- Bob’s expanded role in That ’90s Show season 2 can make up for the distance he felt between his granddaughter Leia in season 1 because he lives so far away.
- Bob and Leia will have the opportunity to grow closer in That ’90s Show season 2, especially if Bob moves back to Point Place.
That ’90s Show is making up for one sad season 1 storyline by expanding the role of an original That ’70s Show character in season 2. After spending the summer of 1995 with her grandparents, Red and Kitty, Leia Forman is returning to Point Place in That ’90s Show season 2, which will be split into two parts. The That ’90s Show season 2 trailer gave a sneak peek of what’s to come in the upcoming episodes, including the fallout of Leia and Nate’s kiss at the end of That ’90s Show season 1.
The trailer also teased some of the exciting guest stars in That ’90s Show season 2, including real-life ’90s icons and returning actors from the original show. Sadly, not every original That ’70s Show star that made cameos in That ’90s Show season 1 is going to reprise their roles again. While Mila Kunis and Ashton Kutcher will be missing from That ’90s Show season 2, one original That ’70s Show cast member is not just returning but actually getting a bigger role in the spinoff.
That ’90s Show
season 2 part 1 will be released on June 27, 2024, followed by part 2 on October 24.

Bob’s Bigger Role In That ’90s Show Season 2 Makes Up For His Sad Season 1 Storyline
Bob Only Appeared In One Episode Of That ’90s Show Season 1
Don Stark is officially returning as his That ’70s Show character Bob Pinciotti in That ’90s Show season 2 after appearing in just one episode of season 1. Stark previously played Donna’s father and the Formans’ cheerful next-door neighbor Bob in all eight seasons of That ’70s Show. Now, it’s been confirmed that Stark’s role as Bob will be much bigger in That ’90s Show season 2, which suggests that he will be spending more time with his granddaughter, Leia. This is especially great news given the OG character’s tragic season 1 storyline.
The only reason he was trying so hard was because he was afraid that Leia would forget about her “old Grandpa Bob.”
That ’90s Show confirmed that Bob was still living in Florida after moving there at the end of That ’70s Show to start a new business, meaning he doesn’t get to see his only granddaughter all that much. Bob returned to Point Place for Leia’s 15th birthday in That ’90s Show season 1, episode 6, “The Birthday Girl,” and went all out by gifting her a pricey karaoke machine. This over-the-top birthday present resulted in a disastrous karaoke incident in which Bob accidentally serenaded Leia to an inappropriate song in front of her friends.

Bob’s ’70s Show Ending Actually Makes His That ’90s Show Return Tragic
Bob Pinciotti’s move to Florida at the end of That ’70s Show makes his reunion with his granddaughter Leia more tragic in That ’90s Show.
Now that Stark’s been bumped to a recurring role in That ’90s Show season 2, Bob will have a real chance to develop a closer relationship with Leia.
Bob later confessed to Red and Kitty that he was jealous of them for getting to spend so much more time with Leia, and the only reason he was trying so hard was because he was afraid that Leia would forget about her “old Grandpa Bob.” It was a saddening moment that prompted Red to begrudgingly reassure Bob that that was never going to happen. Now that Stark’s been bumped to a recurring role in That ’90s Show season 2, Bob will have a real chance to develop a closer relationship with Leia and avoid a repeat of his birthday surprise gone wrong.

Could Bob End Up Moving Back To Point Place In That ’90s Show Season 2?
Bob Was Still Living In Florida In That ’90s Show Season 1
Stark’s more prominent presence in That ’90s Show season 2 suggests that Bob could be moving back to Point Place. Though he’s still dressed like he’s in the Sunshine State, Bob appears to be quite settled into his old neighborhood in the trailer. Although Bob has been living in Florida since 1980, he clearly misses Point Place and wants to be in closer proximity to his granddaughter. Leia may live in Chicago for most of the year, but Wisconsin is a lot closer to Illinois than Florida, making it much easier for Bob to visit Leia more often.
Bob’s potentially permanent return to Wisconsin is even more likely with Laura Prepon also returning as Donna in That ’90s Show season 2. Considering Leia is staying with Red and Kitty in Point Place again for the summer, Donna and Eric presumably still live in Chicago full-time, but Donna’s reappearance in That ’90s Show season 2 would make even more sense if her own dad relocating to their hometown. Of course, he’ll have to find someplace else to live, since his old house next door to the Formans is currently occupied by Sherri, Gwen, and Nate Runck.

That 90s Show
That ’70s Show returns set two decades later with That ’90s Show, acting as a sequel but bringing back old cast favorites. Led by Red (Kurtwood Smith) and Kitty (Debra Jo Rupp) Forman, the new cast arrives as the next generation, with the daughter of Eric and Donna, Leia Forman, leading the charge. Spending the summer with her grandparents, Leia makes new friends and forges new bonds in Point Place, Wisconsin. That ’70s Show series regulars make cameos in the show to maintain that sense of familiarity, and the show adopts the conventions of the ’90s as expected. That ’90s Show first aired on Netflix with a total of ten episodes.
