As shared in a screenshot by Mando3Updates, Wen – who portrays Fennec Shand in The Mandalorian, The Book of Boba Fett, and Star Wars: The Bad Batch – posted a photo of the gathering to her Instagram story, including the program with an image of Weathers as well as some bright, decorative flowers. Wen writes that “we all love & miss you, my friend,” and commends the Directors Guild for a “beautiful memorial service.”

Another image of the program was shared by Bartlett, who has one of the most prolific roles in The Mandalorian as the actor who’s brought many droids and more to life – including Greef Karga’s personal protocol droid in The Mandalorian season 3. He writes a touching tribute, remembering how Weathers “taught [him] to take off the mask” for emotional performances and that he was a “magnificent” man.

Cara Dune actor Carano wrote a long and heartfelt tribute to Weathers, who she worked closely with on The Mandalorian seasons 1 and 2. She describes him by saying he was “a groundbreaker, humble, competitive but kind [with] eyes that light up the room” along with a picture of the gathering that took place in a “packed theater.”

Emmy-nominated hair stylist Maria Sandoval also shared a photo of the program, citing that the memorial was “a sad but beautiful day.” She mentions those who were in attendance with her, including Wayne, Wen, Sackhoff, and Carano, and adds how meaningful it was to celebrate “this amazing man who touched all of our lives in so many ways” before adding Weathers’ motto: “Be Peace.”

Carl Weathers’ Legacy Has Forever Been Cemented In Star Wars

Through Greef Karga & The Mandalorian, Weathers Will Always Be Remembered

It’s heartbreaking yet touching tributes like these that further prove how Weathers’ legacy has been forever cemented in Star Wars. Though Weathers has plenty of incredible roles to his name, his contributions to The Mandalorian have created a longstanding impact on audiences, cast, and crew alike. As both an actor and a director on the show, much of The Mandalorian‘s massive success can be accredited to what Weathers brought to the table with his wonderfully creative and highly determined mind.

As Star Wars prepares to enter production for the upcoming The Mandalorian & Grogu movie, Weathers remains on the forefront of everyone’s minds. There’s no doubt the TV show’s theatrical debut will continue to pay tribute to Weathers in some way, both within the story and outside of it. Seeing as Nevarro has become a key part of The Mandalorian, with Din Djarin and Grogu’s home being on that planet, the High Magistrate and his story will always be a part of their story, even long after he’s become one with the Force.
