This deal makes AMD Ryzen 7 5700X3D the perfect budget CPU

It seems CPU deals are a lot like buses. You wait so long for one that two come at once. While Ryzen 7 5800X still sports a rockstar reduction, we’ve found our eyes wandering now that AMD Ryzen 7 5700X3D has followed suit. In fact, its latest discount makes it the best CPU you can buy on a budget.

With up to 27% off depending on your region, Ryzen 7 5700X3D is either at the lowest price it’s ever been or it’s so close you won’t even notice the difference. US residents can nab the chip for just under $194, UK folks can seize it for £176, and those on the continent will see it anywhere between €185 and €205.

The easiest way to find out the price in your region is to simply click the pink button below.

AMD Ryzen 7 5700X3D dumbfounded us when it first reared its head at the start of the year. Not only was Team Red still betting on its AM4 platform, but it released the CPU at a frankly baffling price tag. It didn’t seem too bad when comparing it to Ryzen 7 5800X3D’s MSRP, but its older brother had already come down to within £15 of 5700X3D in the UK. Fortunately, fast forward seven months and we can finally appreciate it for the gaming powerhouse it is.

For your pleasure, you get a CPU that’s much like 5800X3D in all but a 12% reduction in clock speeds. It features eight cores and 16 threads on top of 105W TDP, with frequencies ranging from 3GHz to 4.1GHz. Its secret weapon comes from its whopping 96MB of L3 Cache, making it a dab hand at gaming.

I was a little dubious of AMD constantly returning to its older platforms, but with its new low cost, I’m completely on board. Plonking coveted X3D cache on previous-gen CPUs lowers the barrier to entry, giving gamers a decent upgrade without breaking the bank.

Just keep in mind that you’ll need an AM4 motherboard and won’t be able to upgrade to Zen 4 or Zen 5 without a larger overhaul. With the way Ryzen 9000 Series has fared, you won’t need to for quite some time anyway. This could change when 9000X3D lands in 2025, but that’s a long wait when a fantastic upgrade is already staring you in the face.

As usual, I recommend you don’t wait too long before grabbing one. These deals don’t tend to hang around. Besides, Amazon provides a safety net in that you can refund any item you’re not happy with up to 30 days after receiving it.
