The Commonwealth of Zion Assembly (COZA) has come under heavy criticism after a video showcasing the extravagant arrival of the senior pastor of Global President of the Kingsway International Christian Centre, Matthew Ashimolowo at its summit in Abuja surfaced on social media.
The church recently hosted the KICC senior pastor as the guest minister of its 2024 leadership summit, documenting his journey from Lagos to Abuja.
The now-viral video captured when Ashimolowo was escorted to a blue and ash-coloured Rolls-Royce, which transported him to Murtala Muhammed International Airport, where he boarded a private jet.
The KICC pastor, upon his arrival in Abuja, was warmly received by COZA’s lead pastor, Biodun Fatoyinbo, and his wife. He was then transported to his suite at the Transcorp Hilton Hotel in a white Rolls-Royce.
“Pastor Matthew Ashimolowo’s INSANE VIP Arrival in 3 Rolls-Royces & a Private Jet!” the church wrote on X.
“The COZA Global Leadership Summit is getting deeper and wider. Don’t miss tonight’s session. We are live!!!”
Reacting to the post, many slammed COZA for the unnecessary display of wealth, arguing it contradicts Jesus’ teachings of humility and patience while others criticised the post’s caption, labelling it “clickbait”.
