Underrated 2024 Horror Movie With 78% RT Score Starring Euphoria & Matrix Actors Coming To Streaming This Month

An underrated 2024 horror movie with a 78% Rotten Tomatoes score starring Euphoria and The Matrix actors is coming to streaming this month. With the year coming to an end, 2024 has been a great year for horror movies, with Alien: Romulus emerging as arguably the biggest hit of the year with rave reviews and over $350 million at the box office. A Quiet Place: Day One also capitalized on the established popularity of its franchise and pulled in over $260 million.

While these two films were franchise installments from major studios, some of the most distinct and memorable horror films of the year have emerged from the indie scene. Neon’s Longlegs starring Nicolas Cage turned a brilliant marketing campaign into a box office triumph, earning $127 million on a budget smaller than $10 million. Immaculate is another one of the indie studio’s 2024 horror movies which, starring Euphoria‘s Sydney Sweeney, was a box office success that earned over $35 million. Neon also released Cuckoo this year, starring Euphoria‘s Hunter Schafer, which was more overlooked.

As announced by the streaming service, Cuckoo starts streaming Tuesday, December 17 on Hulu. The horror movie has been available to rent or purchase on digital platforms since September 17.

Why You Should Watch Cuckoo On Hulu

It’s One Of 2024’s Most Underrated Horror Movies

Cuckoo reviews praise Hunter Schafer’s vibrant charisma, combined with Tilman Singer’s creative flair, which makes the horror film a wildly chaotic romp that leans delightfully into its madness, earning a strong 78% Rotten Tomatoes score from critics. However, Cuckoo isn’t a horror film for everyone, as indicated by its lower 60% audience score and lukewarm box office reception, coming up just short of its small $7 million budget. In turn, Cuckoo has developed a reputation as underrated, positioning itself as a hidden gem that showcases the kind of daring storytelling rarely seen in mainstream horror.
