Vanessa Feltz’s daughter has suffered a series of serious injuries after falling on a piece of unsafe pavement.

On Wednesday’s episode of This Morning, Vanessa explained how her daughter Allegra was walking home in London last week when she took a tumble.

Speaking to hosts Ben Shephard and Cat Deeley, Vanessa said it was a ‘horrible’ story.

‘My daughter Allegra is very slim and very fit and is in her mid-30s. She was coming back from work on Friday around 6 o’clock and the sun was shining, she was wearing trainers, and her phone was where it should be – locked away in her briefcase,’ she explained.

However, she then went ‘flying’ on a slab of uneven paving.

‘She hurtled through the air, and we think she hit her face on another piece of uneven pavement as she fell and she is now extremely badly injured,’ she continued.

‘She was lying in a pool of her own blood, and nobody knew where she was bleeding from and she had to be taken to hospital.’

Vanessa went on to share that her eldest daughter is now undergoing an MRI scan and had an elbow broken in two places and a ‘massive’ laceration under her chin which has been stitched up.

The TV chef and baker’s face is also in bandages and she has a black eye, a deep cut on her hand and doctors are also concerned her hand and shoulder are broken.

As Cat looked shocked as details of the accident were explained, Vanessa said her daughter ‘looked like a little broken bird’ when she first saw her.

Vanessa then spoke about how listeners of her LBC show had contacted her to share their own stories of similar incidents, sharing how one caller’s mother had died after she fell on pavement and suffered a brain aneurism.

Last year Vanessa said she had tried to get her other daughter Saskia to move back home following her split from Ben Ofoedu after 16 years.

Appearing on Vanessa’s TalkTV show, Saskia, 34, was discussing adults moving back in with their parents when her mum asked when she was ‘coming home’.

‘Because I would like you, your husband Mark, your beautiful children AJ and Cecily to come straight home and live with me,’ she said.

‘As people may know, I’m on my own now, I don’t like it, I hate it!

‘It’s not good for my oxytocin, come back and it will be good for my mental health and yours!’

Saskia then replied: ‘If it’s going to improve my mental health, and your mental health, if it means that there’s extra childcare and support and I don’t have to pay my mortgage then I’ll be there!

However, Vanessa did say she acknowledged her daughter was ‘established and in her own home’.

This Morning airs weekdays at 10am on ITV1.
