Wallace & Gromit: Vengeance Most Fowl

Almost two decades after their last hit feature film, the beloved claymation icons are returning in Wallace & Gromit: Vengeance Most Fowl. Created for Aardman Animations by Nick Park back in 1989, the Wallace & Gromit franchise concerns a bumbling inventor named Wallace and his silent beagle companion Gromit, who typically cause chaos with their unusual inventions. After three popular short films throughout the late ’80s and 1990s, the claymation duo jumped to the big screen and found an even bigger international audience with 2005’s Wallace & Gromit: The Curse of the Were-Rabbit.

Wallace and Gromit’s first jump to the big screen was a smashing success, and The Curse of the Were-Rabbit is generally recognized as one of the best stop-motion movies of all time. However, the titular duo behind the classic shorts and feature films has been largely absent, and barring a new short in 2008, haven’t been seen on the big or small screen for the better part of 20 years. Fortunately, Aardman is producing a brand-new adventure featuring the classic clay characters, and Wallace & Gromit: Vengeance Most Fowl is clearly steeped in the rich lore of the decades-old franchise.

In lieu of a full trailer, Aardman has provided a short teaser that drops not-so-subtle hints about the villain of the upcoming movie. In the teaser for Wallace & Gromit: Vengeance Most Fowl, a prison scene is shown in which a tray is loaded up with items, including a red rubber glove. The teaser then cuts to a pair of birds’ feet which walk across a prison floor as a heavy door is locked behind. The camera then cuts to reveal notorious criminal Feathers McGraw, who cracks his neck ominously.

A few months after the first, a second teaser for Wallace & Gromit: Vengeance Most Fowl was revealed in August 2024. The brief teaser highlights a scene where Wallace and Gromit unbox his latest gadget, a smart gnome named Norbot. The vibe is off from the outset as the creepy robot shakes Gromit’s hand a little too vigorously, foreshadowing the gnome’s eventual malfunction.

Continuing to build excitement for the upcoming animated film, Netflix dropped another teaser trailer for Wallace & Gromit: Vengeance Most Fowl in October 2024. The trailer opens with a newscast that disparages Wallace as an evil inventor, blaming him for a spree of crimes in the neighborhood. Meanwhile, an action sequence shows Gromit nearly fall off a speeding bus, while Wallace tries to guess who is framing him. Answering that question in the teaser, the trailer closes with the villainous Feathers McGraw playing a creepy tune on a large organ.
