An unidentified wheelbarrow pusher lost his life on Thursday in an accident around the Dopemu area of Lagos State.
THE WHISTLER gathered that the incident occurred when a commercial bus, reportedly speeding, lost control and collided with a construction crane stationed by the roadside.
Sadly, the impact of the crash resulted in the death of the wheelbarrow pusher, who was by the roadside at the time.
Confirming the incident, the spokesperson for the Lagos State Traffic Management Authority (LASTMA), Adebayo Taofiq, stated that the body of the deceased has been handed over to the police from Afonja Police Station.
He also noted that the commercial bus has been transferred to the police for further examination.
“Our thoughts and condolences go out to the family of the deceased, and we urge motorists to always prioritize safety by adhering to speed limits and maintaining control of their vehicles to avoid preventable tragedies,” Adebayo said.
