Former First Lady Melania Trump is not accompanying her husband, Donald Trump, to his historic hush money criminal trial – but another woman with a resemblance to her is, and has caught the eyes of many.
The woman donned a black pantsuit with gold buttons and had her brown hair with highlights in chic waves, as she walked into Manhattan Criminal Court behind Trump on the first day of his trial on Monday.
Her name is Margo Martin, and she is Trump’s deputy director of communications.
What is Margo Martin’s age?
Martin, who is second-in-command of Trump’s communications team, is 27 years old and an Oklahoma native, according to the Daily Mail.
Her height is unknown, but in a video showing her entering the courtroom in New York behind Trump on Monday, she appeared taller than some of her colleagues, both female and male.
Martin kept a serious face as she watched Trump walk into and out of the court where he is the first former or current US president to face a criminal trial. She sat in the back row of the room with Trump’s senior adviser Jason Miller as the jury selection process got underway, the New York Post reported.
How is Margo Martin associated with Donald Trump?
Before becoming Trump’s direct communications deputy, Martin served as deputy director of communications for Trump’s Save America PAC, which sends emails to his supporter base and organizes his campaign rallies across the US.
Martin is also a White House veteran. When Trump served as president, she was his press assistant, and the staff member who gave the last press lid for his administration.
She has recently been pictured with Trump at multiple events including parties at his Mar-a-Lago resort. Martin travels on the ex-president’s private Trump Force One jet and has been alongside him at official and outside A-list events.
Is Margo Martin connected to Melania Trump?
Martin was mistaken for Melania, 53, by a Fox News during her June 2023 appearance alongside Trump when he was arraigned in the classified documents case in Miami, Florida. Martin wore black sunglasses similar to pairs Melania often sports when going out in public.
That misidentification on TV, despite Fox News correcting it during the broadcast, sparked chatter on X (formerly Twitter) of ‘Fake Melania’. Fox News anchor John Roberts said ‘it’s easy form a distance to mistake two people’ and said it was actually Martin. Melania was not present for the court proceeding.
Despite any resemblance, Martin and Melania are not related.
On Tuesday, the second day of Trump’s trial for allegedly covering up hush money payments to porn star Stormy Daniels, Martin further seemed to mirror Melania by wearing an olive green coat.
Martin’s coat was different in cut and design, but similar in color shade and length to Melania’s infamous ‘I don’t care, do u?’ jacket she wore in a 2018 visit to detained child migrants in Texas while her husband was president.
Is Margo Martin married?
Martin’s marital status and whether she has a partner or is in a romantic relationship is not clear. She has shared numerous photos on social media with friends, her father, and Trump, but not made any obvious posts with a significant other.
Does Margo Martin have an Instagram?
Martin’s Instagram account, @margomcatee, is public. She has more than 33,000 followers and 99 posts as of Tuesday afternoon.
On Monday, Martin shared a clip of Trump leaving ‘day 1 of the Biden Trial’ on her Instagram story. On Tuesday, she shared a video on her story of his motorcade and captioned it, ‘@realdonaldtrump en route today 2 of the Biden Trial’.
Martin is active on X (formerly Twitter), where she posted a video last week of Trump hugging a supporter who is a black woman at a Chick-fil-A stop in Atlanta, Georgia. The post went viral.
