Fia Baxter (Lilli Kay) becomes a critical character in Your Honor season 2 and when she gives up her baby, it marks a critical moment in her relationship with her family and her past. Sofia “Fia” Baxter is the only daughter of crime lord Jimmy Baxter (Michael Stuhlbarg), and his wife Gina (Hope Davis). In season 1, Fia becomes Adam Desiato’s (Hunter Doohan) girlfriend, though she is unaware that Adam was the one who killed her brother. Fia is a sweet and kind character, in contrast to her more hot-headed older brother, Carlo (Jimi Stanton).
Adam and Fia’s romance lasts until Adam is accidentally shot in the season 1 finale, but their relationship lives on as revealed in Your Honor season 2, episode 1. At the end of the episode, it’s shown that Fia has a newborn, and there’s only one person who could be the father: Adam. Fia names her child after her late brother and Adam’s victim, calling him Rocco Adam Baxter. This new life is the bridge that connects two warring families and Fia’s sacrifice at the end of season 2 shows that she understands this world better than anyone.

For most of season 2, Fia takes care of her newborn baby while also dealing with the fallout of Adam’s shooting, Michael’s imprisonment, and the continued grief that comes with her brother’s death. Despite her Rocco being the grandson of both Michael and Jimmy, the child does very little to improve relations between the two families. The Baxters, Michael, and Eugene Jones (Benjamin Flores Jr.) are all circling one another, with the Baxters generally holding the upper hand, thanks to their criminal ties and comfort with violence.

Despite the show’s cancelation, Your Honor season 3 could still happen – but there’s only one story I’d want the series to continue after season 2.
Not all of them are comfortable with violence, however, and Fia has shown time and again that she does not enjoy the criminal life she was born into, her relationship with the (on the outside) lawful Adam being a sign of this. In the season 2 finale of Your Honor, Fia learns that Adam killed her brother and then that she realizes just how entangled her life is in criminality and corruption. Wanting something better for her son, Fia ends up giving Rocco away to the parish to be placed with a new family in the episode’s ending montage.

For now, it’s too late for Fia to quickly extricate herself from her family, but she can get Rocco out of it. Your Honor is about family revenge and how that cycle of violence is never-ending once it starts. Fia found a way to have her baby escape it, and in time, it’s likely that this move will be how she herself escapes.
What’s Next For Fia Baxter In Your Honor Season 3?
Fia Could Be The Star Of Season 3
While Your Honor season 3 has not been confirmed yet, Your Honor season 2 was wholly unexpected, so there’s always a chance that the series returns. In July 2024, CBS Studios President, David Stapf gave a cautious, but hopeful reply about the possibility of season 3 (via Deadline),
“We love the show, and we’re hoping that it can continue, but it’s a little too soon to know or to tell. We would like there to be a Season 3 but we’re ways away.”
If Your Honor season 3 does happen, Fia Baxter’s storyline may make the most sense to take center stage. At the end of season 2, she’s broke, has distanced herself from both sides of Rocco’s family, and is waiting for her GED results to return. Her story would be a fascinating one to depict in Your Honor season 3 as she picks up the broken pieces of her life.
