WWE legend Sable looked totally unrecognisable as she was spotted during a rare public appearance.

The 56-year-old wrestling icon, who is a former Women’s Champion and graced the cover of Playboy magazine three times, has largely stepped away from public life since retiring from wrestling in 2004.

However, Sable – whose real name is Rena Marlette-Lesnar – has been seen out with her husband Brock Lesnar in a new photograph taking backstage at a concert with country music star Jason McCoy.

He shared a group snap on his Instagram, and wrote: ‘Amazing night in Regina hanging with Brock Lesnar and his beautiful wife Rena. Amazing people.’

Sable looked a world away from her blonde bombshell style from her WWE heyday, looking incredibly different with brunette locks.

‘You could have given me ten guesses & not one of them would have been that’s Sable,’ admitted @davidK786 on X, while @Gyimah4Terry added: ‘Sable looks completely different.’

‘She is nearly 60 years old, and her hair is a different color here. If it were blonde, you would still recognize her. You all are overreacting,’ said @Pauliewallnutt.

‘She looks great still,’ added another fan, while someone else wrote: ‘She looks better now’, and yet another person said: ‘She looks good, just looks totally different. I wouldn’t have been able to tell that was her if it wasn’t said.’

Sable made her wrestling debut in 1996 as the on-screen manager of then real-life husband Marc Mero, and her popularity soared as she stunned fans with her racy outfits.

Although she was never regarded as one of the best wrestling in a technical sense, she did become the Women’s Champion and was a draw for the company.

In 1999, she made history as the first WWE superstar – whose female wrestlers were known as Divas at the time – to land a Playboy cover.

At the time, her issue was the highest-selling in the magazine’s history, while she broke another record months later when she landed her second cover in the same year.

She left the company in 1999 before returning four years later, sparking on-screen rivalries with the likes of Torrie Wilson, before leaving for a second time in 2004.

Sable made fleeting appearances with her husband – who she married in 2006 – when Lesnar was working for New Japan Pro Wrestling, but she hasn’t been involved in the business since 2007.

Despite that, there are still calls for her to be inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame one day, although it’s not known if it’s something she would accept if it was offered.

‘Dear @TripleH there’s no reason why this woman (Sable) isn’t inducted into the Hall of Fame. She got your start as a valet and was one of the first women to get pops big as Stone Cold, you and The Rock. Let’s make it happen soon,’ wrote @JzonAzari on X.

Replying to a different post calling for her induction, @HighJak78 said: ‘Yeah she should be. Obviously not the most skilled wrestler, but she got a lot of eyes on the product.’

And @Tommyjr70231230 added: ‘She was a groundbreaker. Brong sex appeal to wrestling. That drove tickets. Guys came to see sable too. She powerbombed a man. Definable first ballot. (sic)’
