X Factor legend Cher Lloyd has revealed a horror car incident that left her ‘counting my lucky stars’.
The 30-year-old, who rose to fame on Simon Cowell’s singing competition in 2010 alongside the likes of One Direction and Wagner, took to Instagram on Wednesday with an image of her car after her brakes failed.
She said that she had been given ‘no warning while driving’, and was in the car with her two young children.
‘This is my Ford Ranger,’ Cher began.
‘My brakes totally failed with no warning while driving with my baby and my 5yr old.
‘Total engine failure due to the wet belt. To anyone who owns one or is thinking of buying one, BEWARE! 🚨’
‘I’m counting my lucky stars that my family is safe.
‘This beautiful vehicle however, has retired well before her time.’
Fans rushed to share their support in the comments with @babykitty_1030 writing: ‘That’s terrifying especially with your littles in the car! Thank goodness you guys are ok!’
‘Thank goodness you’re all ok, can only imagine how terrifying that was especially with your precious cargo on board,’ @x.babs.x wrote.
‘Thank the universe you and your babies are okay,’ @salemmaximus said.
Cher later took to Instagram with a picture holding her youngest, smiling at the camera to reassure fans she was okay.
The Swagger Jagger singer gave birth to her second child, Eliza Violet, with husband Craig Monk in September last year.
The couple already share daughter Delilah-Rae, who they welcomed back in May 2018.
Shortly after becoming a mum for the first time, Cher opened up about the tough reality of being a mum and a musician.
She told Metro.co.uk: ‘I’m not gonna glorify this and say working mums have it easy, we don’t have it easy. I know there’s a lot of working mums out there that have it a lot tougher than I do.
‘I’m really lucky that I’ve got a great network but it’s still difficult.
‘When it comes to having things to do, like if I’ve got a session or a show or a photoshoot, it’s not just get up and go and do it. I’ve also got a 16-month-old baby that I have to consider.
‘The balance of being a pop star and a mum can be really tricky. I really struggle to leave her. It is horrible, it’s the worst.’
