The Yobe state deputy governor, Idi Barde Gubana, weekend paid a visit to Jumbam community in Tarmuwa local government area to assess a road damaged by floods.
He was received and briefed by the vice chairman of the council, Hajiya Budu Lawan.
The deputy governor sympathised with the community and directed the state Ministry of Works to provide canoe and construct temporary bridge for pedestrians to enable movement in the community.
He also directed SEMA to reach out to the victims with relief materials and assured that the state will find a lasting solution by partnering with the Federal Ministry of Works and other relevant agencies.
Briefing the deputy governor, the vice chairman, Hajiya Budu, noted that the heavy rainfall that lasted for over 13 hours on Friday coursed the collapse of the road which linked about 9 local government areas in the northern and eastern parts of the state.
She appealed that temporary measure be put in place to allow for easy movement of people in the area.
