The Yobe state shairman, State Independent Electoral Commission (SIEC),Dr Mamman Muhammad, has on Thursday held a meeting with the security agencies in the state ahead of the forthcoming Local government elections.
Speaking, he said the aim of the meeting was to discuss strategies to adopt ahead of the Local government elections in the state schedule to holds on 8th June 2024.
According to him, it is very important that before conduct of the elections in the state the commission takes into consideration security situation in the state.
He revealed that the security situation will make the state plan a better for safer election where every body would be protected and have safe, peaceful election.
Dr.Mamman noted that,”That is why it’s mandatory to called on our stakeholders, our colleagues, our partners and the security Agencies to give us special advice on the strategies to adopt on the forthcoming Local Government elections in the state.”
The meeting which drew security personnel across the Nigerian Police, Nigeria Security and civil defense corps, Immigration, among other security agencies took place at the office of the SIEC chairman in Damaturu,Yobe state capital.
