Malik Abdul DMW, the son of the late Obama DMW, who was one of the aude of music star Davido, has penned a note to the singer as he celebrates his 32nd birthday today.
In a lengthy post on his Instagram page, he noted how keeping a promise is one of the hardest things in life, yet, Davido made a promise to help him after his father’s death and never rejected him. He stated that the singer loved him just the way a father should love a son as he noted how his father would be so grateful for all he has done.
Expressing his love for Davido, he recalled a day he was so broken, but when he spoke to Davido, it didn’t just solve his issue; Davido spoke to him like a father.
Calling him his father’s friend, he praised Davido for being a humble-hearted man, gifted, talented, handsome, and more. He went on to pray for the Grammy singer as he enters a new age.
“Dad, I’m writing this from the bottom of my heart, keeping a promise is one of the hardest things in life!
You promised to help me since I lost my father
You never rejected me
You loved me just the way a father should love his
Every video of us you always saying “My son”
Dad my father would be so grateful for all you do for me!
I love you so much
There was a day I was so broken, but when we spoke he didn’t just solve my issue
He spoke to me
“My son hope you really good”
These words are so genuine and lovely
Happy birthday to my father’s friend,
someone who cares, someone who loves me, to a father, to a legend, to a humble-hearted man, to a gifted man, to a talented man, to a very handsome man, to someone whose smile can save a soul
I love you so much
I love everything you love.
Enjoy your day
Your year
Everything about you
Enjoy it!
Almighty Father in heaven please bless him with your love, your grace, and your mercy, and fill his life with your goodness and your light.
May my dad feel your presence in his life, guiding him along the path of righteousness and peace”.
Recall that Obama DMW died on the 29th of June, 2021. He has droven himself to a Lagos hospital to run a test and checkup over difficulties in breathing, where he unfortunately died.
Following his death, Davido had fully taken the responsibilities of his son and had secured a job for him, at his father’s company, where he is a shareholder. The Grammy nominee had also enrolled Malik at Adeleke University after seeing him through secondary school.
In July, 2023, Malik made his father proud as he graduated from the University with a BSc in Engineering. Sharing photos from his graduation ceremony, Abdulmalik stated that though the journey was difficult, he finally made it.
