Zac Efron has been spotted partying away at the Venice Film Festival one month after being hospitalised in Ibiza.
The Iron Claw star, 36, cut a dapper figure as he attended the amfAR Gala on Sunday, smiling for a photo with Richard Gere and his wife Alejandra Silva.
Efron wore a suave black suit and matching T-shirt to the event, which was hosted by Kate Beckinsale and saw Antonio Banderas and Mohammed Al Turki honoured on the evening.
The Hollywood star was also spotted in a more casual look walking around Venice wearing a face mask.
It is the first time the High School Musical actor has been seen in public following a ‘swimming incident’ in Ibiza last month.
It’s been said that the Hollywood star was found ‘in distress’ in the pool while staying at a villa in Ibiza, and was pulled out of the water by two people working at the accommodation.
A source told TMZ that Efron ingested a large amount of water into his lungs when his chest hit the bottom of the pool after he dove into the water.
He was given a chest X-ray to ensure there was no water left in his lungs, and ultimately cleared to leave the facility within hours.
Efron decided to remain at the hospital until the paparazzi who had followed him there left.
The A Family Affair star then shared a reassuring message to update his fans on how he’s feeling.
Sharing a photo of himself lifting dumbells while reclining on an exercise ball, he wrote: ‘Happy and healthy – thanks for the well wishes.’
In 2022, the Greatest Showman actor told Men’s Health Magazine that he severely injured his jaw in a freak accident at home after speculation over his changed appearance mounted online.
He explained that he had been running through his house in socks and slipped, smashing his chin against the granite corner of a fountain.
He added that the masseter muscles in his face, used for chewing, were affected and after his injury, the muscles on the inside of his face and jaw had to compensate.
He worked with a specialist and physical therapist during his recovery with noticeable side effects. ‘The masseters just grew,’ he added.
